KindredSPIRITS is pleased to announce world-renowned jazz artist, Dave Koz, will be joining Carlos Santana as recipients of the organization’s 2011 Humanitarian Award. Over the past 20 years, Koz, has rallied his fans to support The Starlight Children’s Foundation and has delivered holiday toys to and given many hospital concerts for seriously ill children. Rock legend, Carlos Santana is being honored for his lifelong devotion to social activism and humanitarian causes, highlighted in his ongoing commitment to The Milagro Foundation which he founded with his family.
The musical lineup for the June 2011 concert includes singer/songwriter, Roslyn Kind, jazz great David Benoit, and Celtic recording artist Eric Rigler. Musical artist, Ilan Davidson, returns to the KindredSPIRITS stage, joined by the LA Jewish Symphony under the direction of Dr. Noreen Green, and Faithful Central Bible Church’s 60 voice gospel choir.
This year’s concert beneficiary is Santa Monica based, International Medical Corps, a global humanitarian, non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering by rehabilitating devastated health care systems and bringing communities back to self-reliance.
